POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this position is to direct and manage operations of the Packing and Warehouse Departments.
This position is responsible for packing of quality boxed assortments and novelty items in accordance with See's standards with oversight of the receiving, storage, and distribution of warehouse goods.
Coordinate with other Product Support Departments to ensure the adequate supply of packaged product to Selling Divisions.
POSITION
Responsibilities:
Manages all packing supervisory and hourly employees including training, development and performance management.
Manages in accordance with the Union contract and coordinates the activities of the Packing Department.
Manages packing department productivity.
Monitors packaging material usage and costs.
Develops and maintains computer spreadsheets for the accurate tracking of department productivity, budget.
May require night shift work during seasons.
Ensures packed candy quality by maintaining visual standards and monitoring rotation of bulk candy.
Maintains a visible presence in packing area to monitor machine operations and quality of product packing and GMP's.
Participates in and leads meetings including departmental, safety and staff.
Implements and leads See's Safety Program.
Supports implementation of new methods, procedures and systems to improve quality and food safety.
Responsible for leading Food Safety and Quality efforts with the designated SQF Practitioner.
Manages operations to comply with all applicable safety and food safety regulations, as well as Company safety policies, food safety and quality procedures and standards.
Responsible for execution and adherence to Food Safety pre-requisite programs as well as food security/defense program In the absence of the Senior Manager, the Packing Manager will assume responsibility.
Coordinates the ERP procedures on the floor, including the accuracy of the Packing inventory.
Job Requirements MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Five years' management experience in a packing and/or food manufacturing environment.
Excellent management and communication skills, with a proven ability to provide leadership, motivation and supervision to employees at all levels.
Personal computer proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word) software applications.
Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Management and production scheduling software preferred.
Bachelor degree in Business and/or food-related industry, or equivalent work experience.
Bilingual (Spanish preferred, Cantonese is a plus).
